THE REVIEW by Robin Moroney for Gamers Today The Army Men franchise takes to the air, allowing you to fly tiny toy soldiers around playgrounds and gardens, helping them avoid relatively giant ants and wiping out evil toy soldiers who wear tan uniforms. Daily Radar and IGN enjoyed this "bizzare, yet charming game" in which an effective assault might involve picking up a donut, dropping it onto an enemy base, and watching ants destroy the enemy as the they try to reach the donut. Gamefan, however, thought the game contained too many "cutesy ideas" at the expense of "interesting objectives." Tactically, the game demands little more than "an itchy trigger finger," according to Daily Radar. "I sincerely hope the Army Men franchise does not the survive the current crop of consoles," Gamefan said, who found the repetitiveness too much. IGN and Daily Radar felt the "gorgeous graphics, multiplayer support, and high-speed action" compensated for the game's repetitive action. *For a complete explanation of ESRB ratings, check out the official ESRB Web site. |
